Pilates

I teach ‘functional’ Pilates in my group classes and aim to improve my clients’ posture primarily, as well as realign the body, increase body awareness and improve flexibility. My clients range in age from 30 something to 80 something and most have been with me for years – they tell me that they ‘trust me’ and are reaping the benefits of regular Pilates classes with me. Please read their testimonials.

I believe that Pilates is a continual learning process for the mind and body and is suitable for absolutely everyone. I structure my teaching so that there is a strong emphasis on Posture, and my goal is to keep my clients as active and mobile as possible, for as long as possible.

Our bodies are brilliant at adapting to our environment which means that our everyday posture has adapted to our everyday lifestyle of spending way too much time sitting and not moving or exercising enough to keep our bodies in optimal condition/health.

My top 3 benefits of regular Pilates classes with a focus on Posture are:

  • Less stress on your bones and joints = less aches and pains and injuries/niggles because you are positioned in good alignment

  • A strong and flexible spine = less back pain and better mobility for all movement patterns because the muscles of the spine and torso/core are working in synergy

  • Better quality of movement = improved self-confidence and spatial awareness because you are more balanced and in control of your body
